Jeanne Baret's Liberty Cap Knitting Pattern

Laura Ricketts designed the Liberty Cap to be completely reversible and very versatile: Opt for red, white, and blue as shown here, blue with a little white, or totally red. It's a clever and very warm cap.

Finished Sizes: 17 (18, 19, 20) inches (43.2 [45.7, 48.3, 50.8] cm) circumference and 9½ (10, 10½, 11¾) inches (24.1 [25.4, 26.7, 29.8] cm) tall; the sample was designed with 2 inches (5.1 cm) of negative ease

Yarn: Brown Sheep Nature Spun, 100% wool yarn, fingering weight, 310 yards (283.5 m)/50 gram (1.8 oz) skein, 1 (1, 1, 2) skein(s) of #105 Bougainvillea (MC), 1 skein of #147 True Blue Navy (CC1), and 1 skein of #730 Natural (CC2);

Needles: circular 16 inches (40 cm) and set of 5 double pointed size 1 (2.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Markers, 8; 1 different from others to denote beg of rnd Tapestry needle

Gauge: 32 sts and 45 rnds = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in St st
