LoginFor this project, there are two basic design elements in the border segments: Diagonals and Strawberries. Diagonals create a "bow-tie" motif, often used in Orenburg-style lace knitting.This pattern uses Shetland-style lace knitting for the center segment, but reversed the usual direction: that is, knitted from outside to inside. Orenburg Diagonals create the flower motif in the center.
Finished Size: 16 x 16 inches (40.6 x 40.6 cm), excluding edge teeth
Yarn: Claudia Hand Painted Yarns Contemplation, 100% linen yarn, laceweight, 540 yards (493.8 m)/100 gram (3.5 oz) hank, 1 hank each of Moss (A) and Dirt (B);
Needles: Chiao Goo Needles, stainless steel circular 32 inches (80 cm) and set of 2 double pointed, size 1½ (2.5 mm);
Notions: Tapestry needle, Colored waste yarn for markers, Pillow form, 16 x 16 inches (40.6 x 40.6 cm)
Gauge: 22 sts and 48 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in lace patt
