Jane Austen's novels are full of inspiring estates. One held in high esteem by Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice is Rosings Park, the residence of Lady Catherine De Bourgh. With Rosings in mind, these socks are full of frills, yet refined with their fine gauge of ten stitches per inch. Finished Size: 7 ¼ (8, 9 ¼)" foot length, 6 ¾ (7 ½, 8 ½)" foot circumference, 7 ½ (8 ½, 9 ½)" cuff circumference. 8" foot length pictured; to fit woman's U.S. shoe size 7-8. Yarn:

Cascade Yarns Heritage Silk (85% Merino superwash, 15% bombyx silk; 437 yd [400 m]/100 g): #5642 blood orange, 1 (1, 2) skein(s). Yarn Weight:

Needles:

Cuff . two Size 1½ (2.5 mm): 16" or longer circular (cir); Leg. two Size 1 (2.25 mm): 16" or longer cir; Lower Leg and Foot. two Size 0 (2 mm): 16" or longer cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions:

Markers (m); tapestry needle; Size B/1 (2.25 mm) crochet hook (optional). Gauge:
