The designer wanted to create something sleek and beautiful for the Austen men. The gorgeous colorwork fabric is both masculin eand elegant. The wool/silk blend yarn gives the vest a warm functional aspect. Mr. Knightley's Vest, when paired with an ascot and a long coat, exemplifies the Regency era. It can also be worn with a T-shirt and jeans for a modern look. The twined knitting technique that is used to create the colorwork is easy to master and can be done by a beginner, even though the resulting fabric looks like it requires a seasoned knitter.
