LoginThis table set is from nature and “industrial” at the same time; the leaves soften the crisp spiral lines. It begins with a center cast-on and is worked in the round. The bronze beads, applied with a crochet hook, create added elegance.
MATERIALS
THREAD: KnitPicks Curio, 100% cotton, size 10, 721 yards (659.3 m)/100 gram (3.5 oz)
ball, 1 ball of #26269 Spearmint (1 ball will make one larger table center and up to three smaller doilies)
NEEDLES: Set of 5 double pointed and circular, 16 inches (40 cm), size 1 (2.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
NOTIONS: Crochet hooks, size 14 (0.6 mm) steel to place beads (or size to fit beads) and size 0 (1.75 mm) steel for bind-off; stitch markers (at least 1 marker for the start-of-round); tapestry needle; stainless T-pins, for blocking; blocking mats
BEADS: Toho, 8/0 Japanese seed beads, Metallic Bronze, 56 beads for each larger table center and 8 beads for each of the smaller doilies
FINISHED SIZES: Larger table center, 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter, blocked; smaller doily, 12½ inches (31.7 cm) in diameter, blocked; both will be slightly smaller once they relax after unpinning
GAUGE: 24 sts and 34 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in St st on size 1 needles, after blocking
