Retro Vest

Margaret Hubert’s lovely and lacy long vest is a showstopper. You will be center stage in either town or country when you wear it. The side vents add ease of movement and a dash of flair.

Materials Needed

• Tahki Cotton Classic Lite, 100% mercerized cotton yarn, DK weight, 146 yard (133.5 m/ 50 gram (1.8 oz) skein, 12 (14, 16) skeins of #4030 Pewter;

• Crochet hooks, sizes F/5 (4 mm), E/4 (3.5 mm), and G/6 (4.25 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

Finished sizes: Bust circumference 36½ (40, 44¾) inches (92.7 [101.6, 113.7] cm); to fit bust 34 (38, 42) inches (86.4 [96.5, 106.7] cm)

Gauge: 2 shell clusters and 2 groups dc = 4¼ inches (10.8 cm) on F/5 hook, 2 shell clusters and 2 groups dc = 4½ inches (11.4 cm) on G/6 hook, 8½ rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) on F/5 hook, 9 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) on G/6 hook
