Catherine's Bonnet Knitting Pattern

Knit this sweet hat, work the ruffle back and forth using short-rows. Then, after the pleats have been completed, work the rest in the round with swirl-shaped crown decreases. Finished Size: 123/4 (141/2, 16, 171/2, 191/4)" circumference. Bonnet shown measures 16". Designed to be worn with about 2" of negative ease.

Yarn: Rowan Handknit Cotton (100% cotton; 93 yd [85 m]/13/4 oz [50 g]): #346 Atlantic, 2 skeins.

Yarn: Size 6 (4 mm): 16" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn) (see Notes). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge: 21 sts and 26 rnds/rows = 4" in St st.
