Netherfield Evening Bag Knitting Pattern

Inspired by the ball scene in Pride and Prejudice, this reticule is designed toreflect the delicate, ornate style of Regency eraevening wear. Leafy vine and wavepatterns contrast with blockier designelements reminiscent of the Regency era’sneoclassical architecture and interior designstyles. This elegant accessory is ideal for aball, but it also makes a handy cell-phonebag. This design incorporates some stitchpatterns that were originally recorded in thesewing book The Young Ladies’ Journal Complete Guide to the Work-table (E.Harrison, 1884) and is a great way topractice lace knitting. Make a larger bag byusing heavier woolen yarns and largerneedles to make a tote.
