Login Purchase Single ProductWe asked knitwear designer and author Vicki Square to use the pattern for “Boy’s Knickerbocker Stocking” from Weldon’s Practical Stocking Knitter, Third Series, included in Volume 2 of Weldon’s Practical Needlework (published in 1887), to reknit the socks. While the original pattern was intended for a boy, Vicki’s version is sized for a woman’s medium.
Knit these Victorian-era socks updated for the 21st-century. This pattern includes the original pattern from Weldon’s without any alterations as well as Vicki Square’s notes on how to knit her 21st-century adaptation of the pattern.
