Love and Loyalty Knitted Pin Ball Pattern

During the Regency era, it was very common for women to make knitted pin balls as gifts for dear friends. They used personalized medallion-like symbols (often derived from printed motifs used for embroidery samplers) to represent love, unity, loyalty, joy, devotion, or whatever concept appealed to their rich, creative minds. This knitted pin ball pattern is an excellent project for any knitter inspired by Jane Austen and the time in which she lived.
Finished Size: About 2" in diameter and 61/4" circumference, after finishing
Yarn: DMC Cébélia Crochet Cotton Size 20 (100% cotton; 415 yd [379m]/13/4 oz [50 g]): #0799 horizon blue (A), #0437 camel (B), and #0712 cream (C), 1 ball each.

Needles: Size #0000 (1.25 mm).
Notions: Two cardboard circles 2" diameter; small tapestry needle; small amount of lambswool or polyespolyester fiberfill for stuffing; optional 30" purchased braid or ribbon
