Heathway Wool from Wales were used for all of the book cover's embroidery. The colors have been matched as closely as possible to an 18th-century coverlet now in the collection of the Allentown Art Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Finished size: Book, 8¾ inches (22.2 cm) tall, 5¾ inches (14.6 cm) wide, 1¾ inches (4.4 cm) spine; pattern, 6? inches (17.5 cm) tall and 5½ inches (14.0 cm) wide**
Yarn: Heathway Wool, 100% merino crewel wool yarn, 2-ply, 10 yards (9.1 m)/hank, 1 hank each of Honey #185, Lapis #213, Lapis #218, Old Gold #143, Pomegranate #135, Rustic Red #198, and 2 hanks each of Indigo #157 and Teal #375; Wool fabric, 100% wool, 1/3 yard (0.3m), Ecru; Silk shantung fabric, 100% silk, 1/3 yard (0.3 m), Ecru
Needles:** John James Needles, chenille size 20 and sharps size 10
Notions: Sewing thread, Ecru and Light Blue; marking pen, disappearing-ink type, fine point; embroidery hoop, 6 to 8 inches (15.2 to 20.3 cm) in diameter; tissue paper, White; book of choice, between 6½ and 11 inches (16.5 and 27.9 cm) in height**
