Worked in blue to fit the Victorian rhyme (Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue . . .). The cast-on is along the short edge, making them easy to fit. Adding more repeats of the lace pattern will allow the bride to ruffle the lace, if desired. Yarn: Grignasco Knits Merino silk 25, 75% extra fine merino wool/25% silk yarn, laceweight, 384 yards (351.1 m)/25 gram (0.9 oz) ball, 1 ball of #316 Ice Blue; Garter A requires 4 grams (0.1 oz) of yarn, Garter B requires 5 grams (0.2 oz) of yarn
Needles: set of 2 double pointed, size 0 (2 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Tapestry needle, Nylon cord or blocking wires and T-pins, Ribbon, 1?8 inch (3 mm) wide; 1 yard (0.9 m) for Garter A, 2 yards (1.8 m) for Garter B, White
Finished Size: Garter A, 21 x 2. inches (53.3 x 6.3 cm); Garter B, 18 x 3 inches (45.7 x 7.6 cm)
Gauge: 35 sts and 64 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in garter st, after blocking
