Fashionable ladies of the Regency period wore intricately draped sheer gowns with low necklines and used diaphanous scarves to cover their shoulders. These lightweight scarves served as an inspiration for this design. With its delicate lace pattern reminiscent of a beautiful bouquet of flowers, the shawl could be worn by Emma on her wedding day.

Finished Size: About 51" wide alongtop edge and 21" tall at center. Yarn: Juniper Moon Farm Findley (50%Merino wool, 50% silk; 798 yd [730 m]/31/2oz [100 g]): #14 dove, 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Knitting Fever International. Needles: Shawl—Size 6 (4 mm): 32" circular (cir). Bind-off—Size 7 (4.5 mm): 32" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle. Gauge: 19 sts and 29 rows = 4" in St st on smaller needles after blocking. Originally Published: Jane Austen Knits 2014.
