Polaris Puppy-Knit

In the Arctic, transportation relied upon sleds and the teams of dogs that pulled them. This knitted and stuffed sled dog was created in honor of Josephine Peary's adventures in the Far North.

Finished Sizes: About 7 inches (18 cm) long, 3. inches (9 cm) wide, and 8 inches (20 cm) tall; body circumference, 9. Inches (24 cm); neck circumference, 7. inches (19 cm)

Yarn: Kraemer Yarns Mauch Chunky, 100% wool yarn, single-ply, 120 yards (109.7 m)/100 gram (3.5 oz) skein, 1 skein of Marble; Black wool yarn for nose, 18 inches (45.7 cm); I used Kraemer's Mauch Chunky in Black

Needles: set of double pointed, size 7 (4. 5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Crochet hook, size H-8 (5 mm); Tapestry needle; Markers; Safety eyes, Brown, 15 mm, 2; Black wool felt (for eye definition), 2 inches (5.1 cm) square Wool felt for collar, 3?8 inches (9 mm) wide and 10 inches (25.4 cm) long, color preference personal choice; Buckle, . inch (6 mm) for collar; Polyester fiberfill stuffing

Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in St st
