The Twelve Months of Ornaments, created by our own PieceWork team members, is our way of saying thank you to our All Access subscribers for being such valued members of our community. Each monthly seasonal ornament pattern will let you enjoy needle-crafting with us all year. Relax, try a new craft, or savor a familiar craft in quick-to-accomplish projects that are a pleasure to make. It has been so much fun for us at Long Thread Media to work together on these ornaments, and we hope you’ll share your finished pieces using #pieceworkmagazine. We can’t wait to see them!
Autumn is here, and as a lover of all things pumpkin, I feel happy whenever I see that familiar orange and green combination, because I know that good things lie ahead. Knit a bunch of these charming mini pumpkin hats to add a harvest touch to your décor—as garlands, as tree ornaments, and as gifts.
They are easy to knit, and they only use small amounts of yarn—the skeins listed below will yield at least four mini pumpkin hats. Switching needle sizes partway through the knitting enhances their slightly rounded shape. A knitted I-cord is sewn down at the top to create the cute stem, which doubles as a loop to hang your pumpkins. They are fun to make: it is hard to stop at one!
