  • What is the difference between a course and a video?

Our courses contain a greater variety of learning tools and are formatted into lessons for easier tracking and self-paced learning. In addition to separate chapters for each video lesson, you may also find other resources such as workbooks, downloads, recaps, or bonus materials in your course.

About Long Thread Media

Spinners, weavers, and traditional textile buffs count on authentic community and solid technical information. We know them because we are them.

Long Thread Media was founded in 2019 to bring the dedicated team from Handwoven, Little Looms, Spin Off, and PieceWork closer to the readers and communities of the crafts they love. Making yarn and cloth by hand is an intimate, powerful act that links artisans to one another and to history—the long thread that connects us.

Throughout all the media we produce—magazines, videos, podcasts, articles, and more—our mission is to help you get better at what you love to do. We are a self-funded, employee-owned-and-operated small business, and you can learn more about us at LongThreadMedia.com.
